Torbay Council is a fast improving Local Authority, and Children's Services are very much a part of that. We offer a wide range of services from Early Years provision to Sports Facilities, from Schools to Museums and from Libraries to the Youth Service.

Driven by Every Child Matters: Change for Children and the Children Act 2004 agencies providing services to children, young people and families in Torbay are working hard to deliver an integrated service which makes a real difference.

It has also resulted in these agencies working closer together to improve the lives of children and young people and their families and offer help and support if things start to go wrong.

We have already taken the first step towards delivering this agenda by combining children’s social care and education into a unified Children’s Services directorate.

Our goal is to provide a joined up service which, whatever their background or their circumstances, provides the support they need to achieve well being based on Every Child Matters outcomes.

We do hope you find our section helpful and beneficial to your requirements and needs, we value any comments or questions that you may have and we will always endeavour to assist you in any way we can.
