This information has been put together by Torbay Council's Cultural Services department and provides guidelines and procedures for event organisers to follow when planning an event in Torbay to ensure that the event is held in accordance with the conditions and safely.  Any public event poses particular risks and requires a high degree of planning and safety control.

The information provides basic advice for all events. All events should be planned well in advance so that more complex issues can be resolved at an early stage.  All events must have Public Liability Insurance cover and Risk Assessments (including a fire risk assessment).

For further information please contact the Events Department. To check for availability of dates please contact the Events Officer.

The main Council sites that are Licensed for Entertainment and Events are:

Torquay

  • Babbacombe Downs
  • Torre Abbey Meadows
  • Lower Union Street
  • Princess Gardens including Cary Parade & Green

Paignton

  • Paignton Greens
  • Victoria Street
  • Oldway (old putting green)

Brixham

  • St Mary's Park
  • Furzeham Green
  • Fore Street

Some of our Parks are also available for Events subject to the size and nature of the event.
