This new fortnightly visual arts club invites young people that would like to try out a range of creative arts and meet likeminded teens to share ideas and start new projects. Each week we will explore an artform such as photography, printmaking, writing, podcasting, animation, film, painting, drawing and more before we design projects to develop together. Drawing inspiration from the Torre Abbey Collection, changing art exhibitions and the world at large, The LAB: Young Makers will get the chance to be producers, have input into the session design and gain practice in researching artists and local art events.
Film and Media Teacher and Torre Abbey Museum Learning Officer Ali Pym will support the team in developing their voices as a young artists and running an Instagram profile that celebrates the clubs inspirations, skills learned and work created.
Parents are not required to stay with their child during the session (although you are welcome!). You will need to sign the registration and photo permissions form on first entry to confirm drop off/pickup procedures.
No booking required.
