Our Scaffolding and Behind the Scenes Tour is a great opportunity to gain insight into the specialist restoration works underway at Torre Abbey. It is a rare opportunity to see the team at work and find out more about our historic building. 

Our excursion onto the project’s scaffolding starts at with an introduction to the tour, where you’ll don a hard hat and high-vis jacket. After a short safety briefing, you’ll head out onto the scaffolding where you’ll hear about Torre Abbey’s current restoration works and have the opportunity to ask heritage building specialists questions about the project. 

Booking is essential (10 people max per time slot).

There will be two tours available on the 13th December:

• 11:15 - For individuals with no accessibility issues - to join this tour you will be required to climb a safety ladder to access the scaffolding.
• 14:15 - During this tour the restoration works will be accessed from within the building, you will be required to climb a small amount of stairs each with handrails, but you will not have to climb ladders or walk on the scaffolding. 

*Covered sensible footwear will be required (preferable boots) - We will provide hard hat and high-vis jackets. 

Tours will last between 45 minutes - 1 hour,  participants will be able to enter and view the rest of the house after the tour has been completed. 

Tours start at 11:15 and 14:15 please arrive early so we can start promptly.
