Views wanted on Torbay's heritage and a chance to win Torre Abbey membership

Torbay residents are being asked to give their views on local heritage in a new survey with a prize draw. Torbay Council, TDA and Torbay Culture are keen to listen to local people's views on the historic sites, buildings, objects and stories that matter to them. Everyone who takes part in the Torbay Heritage Survey 2020 will be entered into a draw to win a year's membership of Torre Abbey, with unlimited free admission to the Abbey, gardens and exhibitions.

Responses to the online survey will help to share Torbay's new five-year Heritage Strategy. The Council hopes this will be an invaluable tool for everyone who cares for Torbay's heritage.

Councillor Mike Morey, Cabinet Member for Infrastructure, Environment and Culture, said:

We know there are historic buildings around the bay which need attention; we also know that residents of the bay want to see places cared for, used and brought back to life.
To meaningfully make progress with these challenges, we need an up to date Heritage Strategy that reflects the priorities of our residents, so I encourage everyone who values Torbay's past to take part in this survey. It only takes around six minutes to complete and the results will be enormously helpful.

The survey can be found at: www.torbay.gov.uk/council/consultations

The survey closes on Wednesday 19 February.
